Ways to Pray For Your City This April

Please partner with other believers in prayer for your city by taking time to pray through this passage and apply it to the areas of need in your life and community. Feel free to print and distribute this prayer guide as needed.

I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge — even as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among you — so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. – 1 Corinthians 1:4-8

Lord, let this prayer be true of us, our families, and our communities. We approach Your throne with confidence asking…

… That we would be filled with gratitude for your grace.

  • Thank you for victory in the work of Jesus on the cross.
  • Thank you for being attentive to our situations and prayers.
  • Thank you for the hope of our calling in your kingdom.

… That our speech and knowledge would be enriched in Jesus.

  • Remove from us any crooked or corrupt speech.
  • Fill our mouths with speech that brings grace to those who hear.
  • May our churches grow in love through the revelation of Jesus.

… That we would not lack any gift of the body of Christ.

  • Unite our churches one body with many interdependent parts.
  • Give us wisdom to cultivate the giftings in our communities.
  • Bring our churches into greater spiritual maturity.

… That we would be sustained as faithful to the end.

  • Protect and provide for the needs of our community.
  • Give our churches boldness to be a faithful witness.
  • Strengthen us with unshakable faith through the storms.

… That you would revive us!

  • May our churches be known for the love and power of Jesus.
  • Make our city a trophy of God’s grace and mercy.
  • Fill us with the joy of your presence.

In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen!
